Your Thursday Moment of Words Absolutely Freaking Fail Me

From 1963, please enjoy Ross McManus and his rousing rendition of the venerable Weavers/Peter Paul and Mary/Trini Lopez hit "If I Had a Hammer."

And in case you're wondering, Ross is -- wait for it -- Elvis Costello's dad.

Have I mentioned that words absolutely freaking fail me?

  3. He also recorded as "Day" Costello (wth?) and recorded "Long and Winding Road" under this name. Look to the internet for a Swedish release with picture sleeve. He looks like a cross between Colin Blunstone and Austin Powers.

I remember an interview with Elvis saying that due to his dad's profession he got Beatles acetates (used as demos for Joe Loss) )before they reached the general public.

  4. I think I first saw this on Stephan Colbert show. I think it was about the time Elvis released his memoir. Always a good time to see.
