She brings nothing to it except too much respect. Nothing to hate there, move along. I'll bet her studio band had one helluva lot of fun playing that song instead of the usual dreck.

2. Hopefully some young girl out there might like that cover enough to find out who Tom Petty is.You have to remember that our first intro to Laura Nyro was through the 5th Dimension / BS & Tears.

3 She did no more, no less then Todd did on Faithful.

4. Hey, she was standing next to Joe Elliot in that montage who we know covers quite a bit of his musical hero Ian Hunter / Mott.

5. She had the good taste not to present it in a Dave Matthews style ;-)

robAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8921382.post-49292175160645103362017-10-07T01:45:21.077-04:002017-10-07T01:45:21.077-04:00And suddenly I'm against free speech...that wa...And suddenly I'm against free speech...that was criminal.John Wernerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05260969941096592148noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8921382.post-78071308788069905672017-10-06T22:27:14.290-04:002017-10-06T22:27:14.290-04:00Yeah, I'd say McGuinn's version is more di...Yeah, I'd say McGuinn's version is more disappointing, because it could/should have been so much better...

MarcAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8921382.post-27091392924573453382017-10-06T16:00:08.668-04:002017-10-06T16:00:08.668-04:00Sounds as if Rachel Sweet was doing a cover versio...Sounds as if Rachel Sweet was doing a cover version of the song.
