I don't know why this strikes me as so ineffably funny, but it does.

After a bit of investigation I've discovered that the YouTube video came from a 1991 television special called Lovelaughs. It was hosted by Teri Garr, and billed as "A comedy special spotlighting comediennes sharing the trials and tribulations of their love lives from their first date to the signing of divorce papers."

I first saw Kahn do that on an episode of Saturday Night Live in the 70s, but apparently that clip isn't on YouTube.
