Featuring lead vocals by the utterly, and surprisingly, authoritative Peter Noone(!!!).
Attentive readers will recall these guys from February of last year, when I originally posted their fab gear version of The Beatles "I've Just Seen a Face".
But this new one just blows me the fuck away. I mean, please allow me to observe that it boggles the mind nobody's thought of doing its central trick before now.
Plus -- Peter fucking Noone? When did he get to be such a thoroughly convincing punk-edged rock singer?
I mean -- wow.
In any case, you can find out more about these guys -- including where they're gigging next and how to order the aforementioned new album (on CD or vinyl) -- over at their official website HERE.
Have I mentioned wow?

And a little bit of "Valleri" thrown in as well!
You don't remember the Tremblers* and the Hermits' influence on the Ramones?
As an aside, why would you have a band doing cool covers, cool gear etc and have a guitarist with a giant ponytail? Ah well, just my personal taste.
*The Tremblers' vinyl is easy to find; the CD goes for ridiculous prices.

I remember liking the Tremblers' album a lot -- may have reviewed it in SR.
Steve - You DID review the Tremblers LP in SR. I remember reading the review.
great fun!
Ab Fab, for sure!
And as an aside, does it annoy you as much as it does me when you hear a band do “Satisfaction”, and the bass player plays the exact same notes on the riff as the lead guitar is playing? That they don’t realize that what makes it great is that little harmony in the bassline?? Don’t they hear that??
Jai Guru Dave
Steve - Liked the Beatles Rooftop homage with the Hofner and of course the Rick
Noone looks particularly good as a 76 year old, just 3 years younger than me whom my friend Ian would comment - "Who's that weathered chap"
Nothing wrong with putting together a group of friends and garage banding it
Peter still has a great set of pipes
BTW - Waddy is still the pony tail guitarist

Thanks for reminding me how good The Weaklings are!
Captain Al
The Weeklings are an amazing band!
and the cherry on top? the horn riff from Otis Redding's version at the fade
On that same album, how about quoting the riff from "Apricot Brandy" in "April's Fool?" Wow.
