So how come I'm posting, of all things, Queen's shall we say overfamiliar "Bohemian Rhapsody"...
...as if it's somehow relevant?
Because it actually is.
See, we were in Florence the other day, at the church of Santa Maria Novella, and we viewed this imposing pulpit...
...which is the actual one that guy-in-the-song Galileo was denounced from for having the temerity to declare, correctly, that the earth revolved around the sun.
How cool is that?
BTW, if you're ever in Florence, make sure you check out the aforementioned church, which dates from the 15th century, as it's like the weirdest damn thing you'll ever see.
Seriously -- it's like this spooky multimedia Jesus Land theme park or something. I'm not kidding about this.

Is the pharmacy still active? I still have a bottle of some magical religious elixir, which I think is just sherry, from our last trip.
Heh.😎
1/lake street dive does my favorite cover of bohemian rhapsody - when they posted it on youtube 8 years ago they said "Happy HallowQueen!!!! Here's our version of BOOhemian Rhapsody!"

2/somewhat less familiar than the rhapsodies by liszt and gershwin, but very enjoyable [for those that like that sort of thing] is George Enescu:Rumanian Rhapsody No. 1

3/as for the weirdness of "the jesus land theme park", as you put it - in the bhagavad gita, lord krishna says people have both divine and demonic tendencies - also true of organizations made up of people - as someone from a unitarian background who took up going to catholic mass when i took up with missus charley - well over a thousand such occasions now - i try to look for the good even when recognizing there are notsogood aspects too
4/in general, in fact, living here in the future, in this world in which we live in - as a 21st century man with alleged schizoid tendencies - i try to keep that in mind - good stuff is happening, as well as bad stuff
5/sometimes i have to take it one day at a time [one hour at a time, one breath at a time] - may moments of peace be with us all
