I Could Be Wrong, But I Have a Sneaking Suspicion Bob Dylan Would Really Dig This!
Some ladies my age (heh) sing a huge and thoroughly deserved FUCK YOU! to you know who. Based on a classic by some guy (not coincidentally) from Minnesota.
In all seriousness, watching that for the first time I got as choked up as I did watching the videos for the new songs by Billy Bragg and Bruce Springsteen.
Very sharp writing, marvelous performance - their YouTube page shows they have a number of things like this - the Piedmont Raging Grannies are apparently based in North Carolina - one hopes that the People Power - to use an old-fashioned phrase - will be victorious at this time when we need it most - the Minnesotans and Oregonians are setting a great example for the rest of us - we as a nation need to pay attention to the power that stands beside us, and guides us, through the Night with the Light from Above.
This is the best thing I've seen in a long time!! God Speed to you ladies. Inspiring.

ReplyDeleteI haven't smiled this widely in months.
ReplyDeleteThe people’s revolution?
