  1. BTW — in case you’re wondering, that’s our late great pussycat The Incomparable Eddie. I would have posted a shot of me wearing one of those buttons, but where we voted (at 11:30 am) they had already run out of them.😎

  6. It's coming to America first
The cradle of the best and of the worst
It's where they got the range
    And the machinery for change
And it's here they got the spiritual thirst
    It's here the families broken
    It's here the lonely say
That the heart has got to open
    In a fundamental way
Democracy is coming to the USA

  8. here's a recent event

    https://www.washingtonpost.com/style/2026/11/04/bob-dylan-meets-pope-leo-xiv-hoodie/

Poet Bob meets Pope Bob, one could say

Dylan's look is sort of monastic, actually

I'm not really sure where Dylan is on his faith journey these days - he has his own way of looking at things - I'm sure I have points of disagreement with each of them - we are taught as children, we encounter others, we listen to our heart - that the two Bobs wanted to shake hands is a reflection of human solidarity - may peace be with them, and with us all

speaking of which, news about the Vice President:

Desperate JD Vance Rebrands Himself by Converting to Islam
    Andy Borowitz
    Nov 5

WASHINGTON (The Borowitz Report)—Desperate to rebrand himself after Tuesday’s Republican wipeout, on Thursday JD Vance revealed that he has converted to Islam.

Vance, who was previously named James Donald Bowman and James David Hamel, will now be known as JD Abdul Zohran El-Sayed.

“As Allah is my witness, I believe I have one more pivot in me,” he said.

The former Mr. Vance made the stunning announcement while on tour for his latest book, Halalbilly Elegy.
