Outstanding.

As those who've read I Was A Teenage Sex Pistol [Matlock's occasionally-supplemented late-80s/90s/2000s autobiography] have learned, Matlock was a huge Small Faces/Faces fan. It's nice to see him filling in the kid's role (and in his early 50s, at that!).

I wish I could see the ironies, but I haven't picked them up yet.

I'll be seeing Glen Matlock, with his Philistines, a couple of times [Brooklyn and Baltimore] on their short East Coast tour in September. I'll be the geek getting autographs on all of the Philistines discs, as well as the excellent 1990s solo record by Matlock.

Yup; fan here!mister muleboyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14367123802128879318noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8921382.post-77467671455861058542011-08-08T08:56:06.563-04:002011-08-08T08:56:06.563-04:00*Sounds* almost like Roger Daltry on lead vocals (...*Sounds* almost like Roger Daltry on lead vocals (at parts). I have no info about the bass player...

Not being a child of the '60s (I grew up in the '70s in the mid-south-west, so my adolescent radio consisted of heavy doses of Molly Hatchet, REO Speedwagon, and the Eagles; I leave it to the imagination how I turned out), I confess I had never heard "Tin Soldier" until a couple of months ago when I was listening to the truly excellent Underground Garage program on Sirius/XM. I continue to say that if you love power pop and can afford the $12/month, Sirius/XM is worth the money just for Underground Garage...cthulhunoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8921382.post-48170829301842597472011-08-08T01:10:26.899-04:002011-08-08T01:10:26.899-04:00Who is filling out one half of the Small Faces?
