Midweek Funny
The Conchords channel The Move.
Heh. I love psychedelia, even though I've never done acid.
Great song, but I think an apter comparison is the Incredible String Band.
Brit psychedelia is so cute, though. It's less about drugs than it is about crumpets and jam and boating in the park and stuff. The American version is generally a lot darker....
See, I thought the apt comparison was "Here We Go 'Round the Lemon Tree," or "I Can Hear the Grass Grow," or something in that vein, but I take correction graciously.
I opted for ISB because they were more a folkie act -- guitars and finger cymbals and what not -- and the Conchords so far have struck me as closer to that than to the Move. But this rocks a bit too, so now that I think of it you're right.

Anyway, it's adorable -- god, I wish I had HBO...
Indeed. Thanks for posting this NYMary. It inspired my post today on the Three O'Clock.
ReplyDeleteHe was channeling his inner Figwit for this one :)
ReplyDeleteI wish I had HBO too :(
I think they borrowed their clothes from the guys in Men Without Hats!
ReplyDeleteThis sorta sounds like the more hippy dippy psychy Donovan!
Brett reminds me of a twee Ian Anderson at one point.
