Gosh Darn It, It's an Unusually Early Clue to the New Direction!!!
From 1970, here's the great and tragic Badfinger with (IMHO) their most beautiful song, "We're For the Dark."
As always, a coveted PowerPop No-Prize will be awarded the first reader who gleans its relevance to the theme of tomorrow's Listomania.
The Loud Family cover is indeed awesome - actually a lot of the covers on the badfinger tribute album are surprisingly great - Aimee Mann's "Baby Blue" and Cockeyed Ghost's "Name of the Game" both spring to mind ...
Great songs by deceased artists?
ReplyDeleteCool use of strings?
Songs that steal from "Cast Your Fate To The Wind?"
ReplyDeleteSongs that have been covered by the Loud Family? * Songs about light or dark?
ReplyDelete*Steve, let me know if you want me to send you this cover...it's swell.
You have the Loud Family doing this?
