Apparently Devo was right -- we really are devolving.
I mean, back in 2007 I was contemplating diva du jour Amy Winehouse and hoping she didn't kill herself...
...and now here I am, a mere two years, later contemplating diva du jour Lady Gaga...
...and hoping I don't kill myself.

ReplyDeleteShouldn't you be hoping La Germanotta will off herself?
ReplyDeleteFar be it from me to wish that on somebody else.
ReplyDeleteAlthough those records are truly heinous...
:-)

at 23 she is really fully formed.
Said it before and I'll say it again...some people are really desperate for entertainment.
ReplyDeleteThanks Madonna for spawning stuff like this!
ReplyDeleteI hate to say it, but on every level, Gaga is so awful she actually makes me nostalgic for La Ciccone.
ReplyDeleteShe's ok, but she's no Scissors Sister.

any amy fan
Her only talent is drawing attention to herself.
ReplyDeleteI can't listen to Lady Gaga, No, No No!
ReplyDeleteMaybe I'm just mellowing in my encroaching middle age, but I just find her perfectly harmless.
ReplyDeleteWell, I've given up fighting it and become something of a GaGa fan.
ReplyDeleteSure, the lyrics may be the worst stuff ever written (and that's including Going Rogue), but they suit this character she's created to a T.
And they may be derivative, but the choruses she writes are catchy as hell. Call me crazy, but that song of hers "Speechless" could have been written by Jeff Lynne.
Add in all the ridiculous costumes, and it's just fun.
