Cheers Everyone!
Hope you had a rockin' New Years eve! Today, I scored a copy of this single from my local SPCA's thrift shop for $.25! This is, of course Kenny, who had a number 4 hit in the UK with Fancy Pants in 1975. Hard to believe that just one year later the Sex Pistols' Anarchy in the UK would chart at #38!
I don't know which is more puzzling -- the fact that you were able to find a 45 of this, or that you can still play it with a turntable chez vous (one assumes).
ReplyDeleteWonder what ever happened to these kids...
:-)
It's hard to tell what's worse: the bad 70s hair, the baseball jackets over the big-K Kenny t-shirts, the multi-colored pants, or the stupid, stupid, stupid song.
ReplyDeleteOn the other hand, after listening to this I may never mock the Bay City Rollers again...
Hey Alex --
ReplyDeleteJust checked out your blog. Very nice indeed. I'll be stopping by from now on.
FYI.
Who's the couple sitting behind the band on stage? Their parents?
ReplyDeleteWorth every penny. BTW;>
Alex,
ReplyDeleteFor me, my opinion about glam is best summed up by David St. Hubbins in Spinal Tap: "It's such a fine line between stupid, and clever."
These guys were glam bottom feeders. Also, Edward, I have watched a ton of these clips from this era and there always seems to be wildly out of place people in the audience. My guess is friends or family of the producer of the program.
The audience appears to be as bored as I am watching this.
ReplyDeleteI think that this band single handedly necessitated the rise of the Sex Pistols.
ReplyDeleteHappy New Year everyone.
Trey
I'm with TMink. Would it were not for Kenny there would be no Sex Pistols.
ReplyDeleteGosh, what a horrible "song".
