Well, I've just arrived in the land of the Ignoble Frog and I'm seriously jet-lagged.
That being the case, I offer my épuisement as an excuse, however lame, for asking you to enjoy -- from 1965 -- the late Phil Spector wannabe/schlemiehl Sonny (Bono) and the still living (albeit made of 100% recycled plastic) Cher. With their classic ode to togetherness against the odds "I Got You Babe."
Okay, off to find a croissant or something.
In the meantime, be assured that despite the current political situation here a coveted PowerPop No-Prize will still be awarded to the first reader who gleans the clip's relevance to the theme of tomorrow's Weekend Listomania.
Excuse me, but the preferred term is "100% post-consumer content."

ReplyDeleteIs there a "Groundhog Day" tie-in here? Hmm, it was the wake-up music in that movie... all songs to be about morning, or waking up?
ReplyDeleteIf you're going for some kind of high difficulty rating, triple-gainer-with-double-reverse-twist-or-whatever, howzabout a morning/wake-up song from each time zone between Paris and... New York, or California? I'm sure Cape Verde and Iceland have offerings that would fit!
