So I've just spent two days in Pompeii, and am heading off to Herculaneum today (have I mentioned I'm on vacation in Italy?)
And it occurred to me that THIS is the only rock song I can think of, top of my head, that features the word "volcano" in the lyric.
A coveted PowerPop No-Prize© will be awarded to any reader who thinks of another example before I do.
The Band has a tune called "Volcano" on their Cahoots album.

Don't have a volcano tune to list, but "She's So Cold" is one of my favorite Stones tunes...

I was too late to suggest "Volcano Girls" by Veruca Salt -- the first single from their second album.
ReplyDeleteNot familiar with lyrics to the above but ? was lyrics with volcano not song titles :) Beck and Damien Rice have titles with the word of the day too.
ReplyDeleteFor the record (because I don't like the song): "Volcano Divers" from Guided By Voices: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cx59qQ0pHa8
ReplyDelete"Ingrid Bergman" by Woody Guthrie and Billy Bragg doesn't actually use the word volcano, and it isn't really rock, BUT it's definitely volcanically active.
