Closed For Monkey Business
Back on Thursday with cool new stuff. Sorry for the delay, but I've had a tough day or so.
Steve, please make the Monkey;-) into a tee shirt. Assorted colors - you have one reader ready to open their wallet. Any one else like to have that Tee Shirt ? rob
That's from an early Mad Magazine parody of the Today Show with Dave Garroway (Dave Garrorunway in Mad) and the chimp specifically is a parody of J. Fred Muggs, a chimp that actually appeared on the NBC Morning News show flashing, if I recall correctly, Dave Garroway's closing sign-off, peace. I don't recall if the chimp says "vootie" in the mag, and I couldn't tell you which artist drew the panel.

I think the art is by Bill Elder from a old Mad comic book or magazine.
