Words Fail Me

Sorry -- just learned we're now officially a fascist dictatorship.

Assuming I don't blow my brains out, music stuff returns on Thursday. But don't count on it.

  1. To quote Keith Reid -

"In The Autumn of My Madness
Which in Coming Won't Be Long"

I will never be able to look at my fellow Americans in quite the same way ever again! I fear for the world we are leaving my granddaughter.

  2. Or to quote The Firesign Theater:

    "Everything You Know is Wrong!"

  5. it was in anticipation of such a result that i made a point of bringing up, yesterday, doris day's "que sera, sera"

as the firesign theater said - THIS is the future - you got to LIVE it, or LIVE WITH it

not explicitly mentioned - we were all much younger then - the third option - at a time to be determined, get out of the way

i'm trying to polish this saying of my own - something along the lines of "the road to the palace of 'serenity now' runs through the wilderness of 'acceptance of the way things are' " - i don't think it's catchy enough yet

Welcome to Trumpistan. When did common human decency die in this country? Words Do Fail.

  7. Americans are clearly self loathing and vote that way.

  8. I can only hope that it won't be as bad as I fear it could be.

    The line is drawn
    The curse it is cast.

    And you better start swimmin'
Or you sink like a stone

  10. It's like voting for Michael Richards because he used to be Kramer.

  11. Do you guys & gals think Trump will be able to control what he has unleashed? I don't. Nor do I think he cares.

    1. He hated being president! He doesn't want to live in the White House and be a leader. He didn't run again to help the country. He ran again so he could win, gloat and tell everyone in his way to fuck off! Of course he doesn't care.

    2. He's too lazy, and too far into his dementia to care. He knows that there's a Project 2025, and a compliant Congress to do everything for him. He never cared when he was "sane". His lifetime history shows that he only cares about himself. All he cares about is that he won, and now he can wreak his vengeance with full immunity.

  13. I think China is about to assume the position of the leading nation of The 21st Century.

The USA had a good run. So did The Roman & Ottoman Empires.

Very disturbing view - my choice of the day - It's The End Of The World As We Know It.

    2. That's very likely. MAGA Mike Johnson has already said that they'll probably end the Chips And Science Act, which has created 36,000 jobs, and was claimed to be able to create a total of 110,000 new jobs. Only China wins if that happens. Follow the money, if you can.

  14. The world sometimes takes two steps forward, then one step back and on again. When Dubya was re-elected 20 (TWENTY!) years ago, it was massively depressing- but we carried on. Trump will revert to his lazy self- but it's his loyal acolytes who will bring the grief. IMHO, it hasn't been about race or gender; thanks to the AM radio Limbaugh legacy, it's been about Populism vs Elitism- and in a numbers game, guess which one wins.

  15. The problem with taking any steps back is there are approximately 25,000 nuclear bombs in the hands of some very shady leaders.
