I've been saying it a lot lately, but one way you can tell when you are living in troubling times is when the folk music starts to get good again. 😎

I forgot what publication it was, but to copy from one of its reviews, "If I Had a Hammer, I'd Hammer on a Folk Singer." I'm betting "Hootenanny" won't make a comeback.
Heh. 😎
Have loved Billy Bragg's voice since the first time I heard it. Not a song that will live forever, but needed here and now.
I would agree with that assessment.
His Album "Talking to the Taxman About Poetry" Terrific protect music
I love Billy Bragg. Good on him. Now, where's the generation that complains but is too busy staring at their phones? It's their turn to seize the moment...
I'm afraid to say but the days of songs raising the voices of youth in change -
Ohio, Chicago (Nash), War (Starr), Jefferson Airplane (Volunteers) even Barry McGuire (Eve of Destruction) are long passed by.
While these recent homages are noted...
Well you get my point -
The Boss has weighed in and, well, he's No Billy Bragg (love you anyway, Bruce).

👍 - Paulinca, I'm sorry to say that the days of the Moratorium To End The War (Nixon/1969), a gathering of 1/2 million (no let me post that # - 500,00 kids) gathered to change our country - see anything like that outrage today - rbm
"One Generation got old (me 🤕)
One Generation Got Sold
One Generation got no destination..
Sorry to all here as I'm sure you are not here to have me pontificate regardless of the "songs"

I can't put up with all these kills any longer
Good song, and yeah, I know it's folk music, but maybe someone will make a much louder cover version.
