It's America's 250th Birthday Party -- So Why Aren't I in a Better Mood?

Well, I think we all know the answer to THAT. ๐Ÿ˜Ž

In any event, in honor of Independence Day weekend please enjoy Bill Pullman, the greatest president of the United States who was never president of the United States...

...no, wait, in the era of President Inepstein that's not even a particularly good joke.

Sorry.

What I meant to say was please enjoy The Hollies and their killer live cover of Bruce Springsteen's "4th of July, Asbury Park (Sandy)." A song which is something of an annual tradition around these here parts.

And obviously because nothing says "an American holiday" like a bunch of whey-faced Limeys singing in three part harmony. ๐Ÿ˜Ž๐Ÿ˜Ž

In the meantime -- have a great weekend, everybody! And stay as cool as possible!!!

  1. Is it sacrilege to say I like that even better than the Springsteen version?
The 3 part harmonies just kill me. And it seems to be actually live, doesn’t it?

    1. I saw them do it live in a club (Springsteen was in the audience at the table in front of me) in 1975. It sounded just like that video. ๐Ÿ˜Ž

  4. the "4th of..." is one of my considerations to include as a vid. link in my 4th of July, Best Wishes, to my sisters scattered around this Grand Country.
Although Linda Ronstadts "Back In The USA" would have them dancing to their morning coffee.
Happiness to all and remember keep your fingers away from the fireworks ๐Ÿงจ
