Anyway, I just love everything about this, including the lyrics and the wonderful backing band. Plus, let's just say that whatever "it" is, CMAT (pronounced See-Matt, in case you were wondering) has it in impressive quantities.
Bottom line: this has given me more hope for slowing/reversing the artistic decline of 21st century popular music than (almost) anything I've heard since Amy Winehouse joined that stupid 27 Club.

I let it run through on YouTube and it was followed by Olivia Rodrigo doing a cover version. Compare and Contrast.
The Rodrigo version is nice enough but it's a little MOR by comparison, doncha think? The original gives me goose bumps....
big in japan ( ireland) she reminds me of a slightly less eccentric Kate Bush. her expression at the end of the video gives the impression that the whole thing was a bit of an inside joke maybe? i liked it.

It was good. I will not make any wiseass comments about the scarecrow.

"...less eccentric Kate Bush." I think that's a very apt description.
Have loved and followed. Her website used to say "global pop superstar - still living in parent's basement". She's got the right attitude and chops. Listen to "I wanna be a Cowboy, baby".
And may I just add --- that video is an absolute conceptual masterpiece. One long, single camera perspective shot without edits and the singer in the center from only the neck up. It shouldn't work, but my god it does, and she is so sexy it hurts.
I’d have known you’d liked it before I knew given the lean to Dave Edmunds as well as The Floor Models. She opens the pipes beyond what her peers can do, and gloriously.
She’s still kinda a kid. God, to be 50 years younger.😎
