Seperated at Birth?
Well, this is just too funny. My old colleague Glenn Kenny, doing business over at the Premiere website, notes a striking resemblance between these two grizzled rock vets --

Flo and Eddie were great.
ReplyDeleteI saw them in the spring of 1973 when they opened for Alice Cooper on that band's Billion Dollar Babies tour.
That was before I discovered that the two had been in the Mothers of Invention, which was another pleasant surprise.

heh. I always wondered how Frank ever hooked up with the former Turtles singers. I always liked the Turtles, but they didn't seem to me to be a fit with Zappa.
Of course, I would have been wrong...
What a great album THAT was/is. Who could imagine that they would freak out somewhere in Minnesota? And here Boing Boing today is describing an "excellent 60s underground internet radio station." I haven't had a chance to check it out yet but it looks promising.

ReplyDeleteI once had dinner with Howard Kaylan (and about a dozen other people) in L.A. We were attending a book signing by a fantasy novelist that we all admired and were invited to dine with said friend/author afterward. Howard was as big a "fanboi" as any of us - except he arrived in a Rolls Royce. :) :)
