Closed Due to the Vulgar Talking Yam

No, I didn't forget to post yesterday -- I wanted to leave up Monday's fund-raiser for my pal's Velvet Underground movie for an extra 24 hours.

Today, however, I am just disgusted with my fellow countrymen and I'm taking a day off.

Regular -- apolitical and peppy -- posting resumes on the morrow.

  1. Something is happening here. But you don't know what it is. Do you, Mister Jones?

  2. I know exactly what's happening here, I just don't think this is the appropriate forum where to argue it.

  3. Maybe The Smoking Man is correct about humanity.

  5. VR...you probably know this, but Steve comments a lot about political matters at:

    http://www.eschatonblog.com/

...where disgust with our fellow countrymen is discussed full-throatedly. Probably the best political blog going, definitely one of the OGs.

I think he wants to keep the music here and the politics elsewhere. Although I'm in agreement with what you quoted–Dylan's words never rang truer than they do right now.

  6. Anna -- I am acutely aware that the name of this blog is PowerPop, not Pissed Off Leftie.

That said -- and I've been rather becomingly laissez-faire about moderating comments here, I think -- it is sorta my blog, so I may do the occasional Trump (or whoever) joke as the year progresses.

The rest of you guys -- we'll see.

heh. That's funnier than the "slutty girl" (or whatever that was) nym you sometimes go by.

  8. Steve–sorry, certainly no offense meant to you. I was just telling VR that you're a regular at Baby Blue, and that political comments might be more welcome there than here.

  9. Anna -- totally understood.

  10. It wasn't a political comment, really. The only politics I care about are those of the Pete Brown variety.

The rest I find mildly amusing. Though I quickly tire of all the partisan bickering, whining, diatribes and self-delusion.

I'd rather be the tramp sitting in the midday sun.

VR - Just soaking up that currant bun with no particular purpose or reason.
