How Old Am I? (An Occasional Series)

It has come to my attention that some of today's kids will be attending this shebang.

My point is that the only one of the performers advertised here I've ever heard of is Courtney Barnett. Who's actually pretty good, but still — it pains me that I’m so out of it.

I rather like the band name Cigarettes After Sex, however.

Have a great weekend, everybody!!!

  5. I've long since given up trying to know them all. They come and go. I stopped trying to keep up when my SON started talking about being too old to really know what's going on. I have heard the name A$AP Rocky but couldn't tell you a thing about them, or care.

  6. Tame Impala has been a college student favorite for a long time. My guess is you’ll have an instant like or hate for their sound. Their videos are never cookie-cutter: https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=pFptt7Cargc

  7. I've heard of six of them, heard the music of three of those, and mildly like two.

  8. Ditto on Courtney Barnett, whose new album is quite good. Ditto too on Tame Impala, whose kitchen-sink swirling psychedelia is both interesting and over-the-top. the band Pond shares members with Tame Impala, and are also interesting. All three bands (Barnett, Impala and Pond) call Australia home. The band I'm afraid of is JPEGMafia, who are less likely to do damage to your ears than to your photo and graphic files.

about half the bands are names new to me, and I try to keep up.
