Go All the Way

Getting ready to go see the reunited Raspberries tonight.

Assuming they're even half as good as on their recently released live album, it should be a transplendent evening.

Memo to God: Please don't let Eric Carmen dress like this.

Raspberries=P.O.C.

POC= Pride of Cleveland.

Speaking of great bands, we saw Spoon this weekend. They're truly one of my faves these days. Elvis Costello and Beatley song writing; great singing and poise by Britt Daniel with a Gary Busey/Buddy Holly mojo that's entirely effortless and genuine for this kid.

Spoon. It'll cure what ails ya.

Hope the Sunday Raspberries show was great.

Oh, you are talking about the 'Berries.

Thought you were talking about that crappy beer!

How was the show Signor Simels? Review would be nice.

I haven't followed Spoon much. They must have changed quite a bit. I have one of their earlier discs and they sound like a GbV ripoff.

The only Spoon song I know sounds like Talking Heads. The one with the insanely repetitive bass line...forget what it's called.

Oh, and the Raspberries were wonderful. They even did "It's Cold Outside"...

Britt Daniel of Spoon is one of the best minimalist pop stylists out there. Great lyricist too.

Go get either Kill the Moonlight or Gimme Fiction.

The most recent release, Ga-Ga-Ga-Ga-Ga, while a very good effort, wouldn't be the best place to start.

Steve, good to hear that Eric and the boys still got chops. They are, of course, still widely revered here in NE Ohio.
