Dear steve's trolls,
You are execrable people who spend your days tongue-bathing Blanche DuBois and attacking anyone who points out that her tiara is cubic zirconia. But did you have to do this? Did you?
(I tried to embed the video, and even managed it, but it crashed the site. So you can see it by scrolling down the Sadly, No! post.)
(via Sadly, No!)
Longtime readers will be aware of he fact that my relationship with The Knack is ambivalent at best. While undoubtedly the sole commercial juggernaut of the era of high powerpop, they pretty much ruined the commercial potential of any other powerpop band for a good decade. The Knack backlash took out many bands, including 20/20 and my beloved Shoes, and for that I can't quite forgive them, though I loved them at the time.
Still.
Palate cleanser, please. Dutch Boy, if you have it.

Well, that reminds me of ... a whole lot of things.
By the way, according to Wiki they're using Run DMC over the guitar riff.
Oops. "Suing", not "using".
What the hell -- I checked in here about four in the morning and everything was normal.
Now this?
Sweet Creeping Jesus.
Why oh, why in the name of all that is good in the world did you have to subject me to that??
That makes Mikki Malkin seem almost well-adjusted in comparison. Almost.
What's next, Miss Haversham break dancing?

Don't you dare give her ideas.
Though she's more likely to strip and throw her support hose sensuously over your shoulder.
BTW, what ever happened to Rubinoos v. Lavigne?
The lovely and talented Brooklyn Girl lives in the neighborhood where Althouse is currently squatting.
She thought she saw her on the street yesterday, but it turned out to be just another blonde slattern...
:-)
I nominate the L&T Brooklyn Girl to replace Thers as Althouse in the next parody video.
I would also like to point out that I posted a transcendent cover of My Sharona at my blog not long ago.
Kenosha Kid,
Ah, Polysics are awesome! I been meaning to post "I My Me Mine." It's one of those songs you don't know whether to love or hate.
Wow...I just watched the actual Pammy video.
Apart from its overall offensiveness, she really does have an over-inflated opinion of her own sex appeal...
Yikes. That was rough.
I stopped watching really violent on-line stuff after the incredible regret I felt after viewing the Daniel Pearl beheading.
I always feel the same after I view one of Pam's vlogs. She has brainwashed those girls. Someone should get them out her hands immediately. They frighten me. Seriously.
The Knack video helped a little bit but that's it for me and the Pam. Never again.
What was the problem with the Knack? I put the better cuts on the iPod recently (most of my stuff is on vinyl) and enjoy them when they come up.
So what was the nature of the backlash?
Trey

You cannot resist the charms of STRONG MACHINE 2.
