Leonard Nimoy 1931 - 2015

From the Star Trek episode "Requiem for Methuselah" (1969)

Dr. McCoy: He's dying....He'll live the remainder of a normal life span, then die.

Mr. Spock: On that day, I shall grieve.

Today, I am grieving.

Rest easy, old Spock.

2 thoughts:

1. He lived well, and he prospered.

2. That haircut on Susanna Hoffs made me fall right out of love with her. From now on, I'm all about the bass (player).

I'm way ahead of you, pal. The bass player was ALWAYS my favorite Bangle.

Gay, of course, but what the heck.

Bummer about Spock. You think he'll come back to life? Anybody got his katra?

C'mon, Susanna's got the lips and legs. Plus she's aging like fine wine. Have you seen Michael Steele lately? Susanna's got the look down now. Keeps it simple and sexy. She looked very fine at the NAMM show last month. I definitely would share her with my husband. But ... she's married to a douche.

Not having seen Nimoy in anything since Fringe made me think he was curtailing his work due to health. Spock could have never been nearly as iconic without the perfection Nimoy brought to the character, and whenever we saw him take a role he always made the character he played much more complex yet accessible to latch on to. A true scene stealer in the best of that sense.

The Bangles hold the position of favorite all-time girl band for me. This song, though written by Kimberly Rew of The Waves, became theirs and clearly showed their skills of interpretation and sheer talent. A fitting tie-in to honor Nimoy's passing
