Pat DiNizio of The Smithereens has passed away at the age of 62.
I am devastated.
More tomorrow, if I can get it together.

What (another) bummer piece of news. The "Especially For You" and "Green Thoughts" albums are great favorites of mine. People often talk (justifiably) about Pat's fine songwriting but he also had a great, distinctive voice that was (sadly) underrated. I got to meet Pat once, when he had his first solo release out. I really feel for you, Steve; I know you went back a long way with all those guys.
R.I.P., Mr. DiNizio.

Very sad news. As Mr. Lag mentions, DiNizio's songwriting, voice, and guitar work was underrated.
Sorry to hear this Steve. Powerpop gods of the 1980s.
On the same day fucking Bon Jovi got into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. There is no justice in this world.
