It's Comedy and Music Week Part III: Special "Class Divides. Love Unites ." Edition

From 1967, the obviously very droll Al ("Año del Gato ") Stewart offers his unexpectedly posh and upper crust version of The Who's classic "My Generation."

I have no idea how I missed the memo on this one back in the day, but better late than never.

Great great take. And the only reason you didn't hear it in the day was that it wasn't on Bed Sitter Images in 1967, which I don't recall being released here in the US, and didn't appear until forty years later on a Collectors' Choice Bedsitter reissue in 2007 or 2008.

Stewart also recorded in 1969 (on Love Chronicles, on which Jimmy Page played guitar on the title track) what should be the anthem of Kings County, In Brooklyn.

Has anyone done the full rock cover versions of Stewart's "On the Border" or "Valentina Way" that those and probably some other songs of his deserve?
