I'm surprised how devastated I am to hear about the news of his passing. I mean, I understand that Keith Richards will, thankfully, outlive the cockroaches, but Charlie's work has given me so much joy over the years that I lack the words to express my gratitude.

Very depressing. Charlie was way beyond cool.
The Brits gave us some amazing drummers in the 1960's and Charlie Watts was one of the very very greatest. He was the one gentleman in a group of punks.
Charlie you will be missed, RIP.

I am SO glad you quoted that line about the kids. It's a great line from a great song (John Hiatt's "Slow Turning") and actually one of the greatest tributes Charlie could have. Thank you.

I don't fawn over celebrities, but I gasped when I saw Mister Watts's death notice yesterday. A drummer who strove for 'just right' instead of 'look at me.' Devoted husband and snappy dresser. The classiest man in Rock 'n' Roll.

The Stones should hang it up as the rhythm section is officially dead. No offense to Steve F. It's time and if this doesn't make it clear I can't fathom why. The legacy is in now that our Dear Charlie rests.
