Songs I'd Forgotten That I Loved (An Occasional Series)

From 1969, please enjoy the vastly underrated The Association and their should have been a much bigger hit "Dubuque Blues."

The eponymous album that's from is, if memory serves, also quite good. I'm gonna revisit it ASAP.

Good tune, Steve. I agree completely that the Association is vastly underrated.

I am a big fan of the Association, and in particular that album. "Goodbye Forever" is a killer catchy song that should have been released on 45. Several of the songs have on it an enjoyable country-rock/CSN flavor ("Look At Me, Look At You", "What Were The Words?", "The Nest"). And those stacks of harmonies...

I will give you this about the Association- they had a member who was a desendant of Chinese Spanish, Hawaiian races.
No other band of the time had a mixed race member up front.
