Oh yes, the Lloyd Thaxton Show. It was also broadcast on a Tampa FL station in the afternoons.
For the kids we've got that new conceptual music video. Brilliant.
I credit MN for much of the a good bit of the fact The Monkees evolved into a close proximity of a real band. Mike was a real thinking talent (he only needed an audience to discover it) and Mickey was a manic energy talent ( he came alive before a live audience in a very special way). Peter and Davey couldn't help but be pushed into greater levels of their budding talents due to Mike. One might call Mike being in The Monkees the secret sauce that elevated everyone.
