Your Wednesday Moment of Disarmament

So as you may have noticed, last weekend I couldn't come up with songs that seemed appropriate to the horrendously tragic recent events in Buffalo and Texas.

Typically, now I just did.

This one, by the great Ian Hunter (who comes from a country where they don't have the problems that we do) seems blindingly apt.

As does this one from Little Steven's first album. (BTW, that's the cosmically great Dino Danelli -- of Rascals fame -- on the stupendous drum part.)

In any event, two superb and obviously relevant tunes, although (granted) a day or two late, and a bitcoin short.

Alex Call's "Just Another Saturday Night". From the 80's. Former leader of the band Clover, which included Huey Lewis and I believe a Doobie Brother.

Dated only by referencing a eight-track tape player.

Think a copy floating out on Youtube.

"Bang Bang" McNally Waters

Dino, perhaps the most under rated drummer in rock/jazz. Watch a Rascals YouTube and keep an eye on him. One of my top fives and I literally have seen the best.

Back in the day when we lived in Redding, CT. we had a very small local/bar with a sound stage.
Saw Ian and family many nights in their booth supporting a,great local musician who subsequently shared the stage with Ian's musicians" The Rant Band"
