  2. 1/this is the future - we got to live it or live with it

2/one way to live with it is to recall music we enjoyed before - to discover new renditions of that familiar music - and to find new music that also tickles the appreciation bone

3/this blog, the proprietor and the commenters, has given me literally hours or strictly speaking some multiples of hours of fun - chicken soup for the soul, sometimes - if it continues there may be more yet

4/and if it closes down - que sera, sera - may all find love, peace, and joy in their future endeavors

    5/monument - utopia

  3. I think many millions of us just need a break right now. It's been an EXHAUSTING, DISPIRITING year.

  4. Don’t worry Steve and Powerpop will be back. It may just take a while for all of us to adjust to the new future.

  5. I'm sympathetic, but I have to be realistic- this year will be pleasant compared to the next. And the three after that.

  6. One more thought: If things don’t get better over the next four years The Republicans will have no legitimate excuses this time.
    That’s legitimate excuses.

  7. If you want a funny take on the frustration and helplessness many in America (and even other countries) are feeling right now, dial up Desi Lydic's "WTF America", from "THE DAILY SHOW", on YouTube.

And for a wee bit of perspective and a sliver of hope, dial up Jon Stewart's "Post Election Takeaway".

  9. Don't forget that a lot of the best Rock was spawned as a reaction to bad times. In light of that, we have something good to look forward to.
