Well, This Actually Improved My Mood
From some festival somewhere in 2014, it's Joan Jett and Slash and an utterly infectious version of The Stones song with the title you're not supposed to render accurately.
Hey, since Wednesday, I've not been a big believer in the healing power of music anymore, but the above at least made smile.
Brings me back to the halcyon days of Goats Head Soup. Friends in my living room with an Illegal Smile sang in unison to Star Star. On another note - just watched Steven Colbert's post mortum, humorous Trump sendup. rbm
Agree with Cap'n Al. Joan Jett is an icon, but her singing is usually flat and behind the beat. On the other hand, the 3-guitar break in Star Star is my favorite instrumental moment in the Stones' canon.
I've come to terms with the Stones' post-Exile output by concluding that I don't like 98 percent of it. But this song remains a firm favorite & I'm tickled to see it covered.
What a great way to start the day/week!

ReplyDeleteShe’s tons of fun. I don’t care if she’s not perfect. And the documentary about her is a gas, gas, gas.
