On the other hand, much of that is down to the fact that I had, and continue to have, a huge crush on the film's delightful female lead Ellen Barkin.
I should add that "We ain't great, we're just some guys from Jersey" -- as uttered in a climactic scene by co-star Matthew Laurence -- is perhaps my favorite line of dialogue in any movie ever. 😎
Havve I mentioned that this death shit is really starting to piss me off?

Ellen Barkin, nice choice, and she's our age.
The Big Easy
Is that Tom Berenger on the keyboards?
He's not actually playing on the soundtrack, but yes, that's him.
Yes, he is the "Word Man".
BTW -- avoid the sequel like the plague. It may be one of the lousiest flicks of all time.
It's a stupid movie. The master tapes survive in the truck of a car exposed to the elements for 20 years? I don't think so. :-)
Okay maybe I'm being overly critical, but as we know I'm a very sensitive fellow.
The music was good!
Overly opinionated Captain Al
Hadn't thought about this band in years. For awhile they were in rotation on the New England/NY FM stations. At the time the two biggest draws for the large music clubs were the Beaver Brown Band and the Roomfull of Blues
Actually, she's way younger than me.
She was a waitress at a place called the Locale, which was the first joint I ever hung out at when I moved to Manhattan in the 70s; a celeb dive run by the guy who also ran Max's Kansas City. . She was cearly a teenager or very early 20s at the time. . And gorgeous -- I remember thinking == that kid is going to be a star someday.
