Long-time/attentive readers are no doubt aware of my fondness for Mr, Wilder, i.e. the self-described Last of the Full Grown Men and Idol of Idle Youth. 😎
The song itself, which absolutely slays me in a kind of Keith-Richards-Meets-Power-Pop sort of way, is from a 1991 album that I think on balance is his best; suffice it to say that nobody has come up with a better synthesis of Hank Williams, The Beatles and Andrei Tarkovsky.

Always liked WW. Local community radio station played his stuff. "Loud Music" is a favorite.
I’m fond of that one too.😎
This song included on Doo Dad is just one on a highly engaging album.
Cover of the Prunes "I Had Too Much to Dream" and you have to look it up but his live cover of the "Big Time" song by Ian Hunter & Mick Ronson rocks.
All his albums are great, and so accessible that my kids loved 'Human Cannonball' and my ma loved his cover of 'Streets Of Laredo'.

Good song! I saw him open for KD Lang way back in the day when they were both starting out. I haven't listened to his albums in a while, time for a replay. "Wild Honey" could have been a hit single.
Just saw him last winter solo in a small space with likely just over 100 folks. He was in fine form, translating even his edgier songs brilliantly acoustically. Having seen him previously several times in his Beatnik prime I am even more impressed.
