Ladies and Gentlemen, may we present the Pride of the Bowery -- straight from C.B.G.B.'s in 1977, it's the great Mink DeVille and Spanish Stroll.
A coveted PowerPop No-Prize will be awarded any reader who can divine how this relates to tomorrow's Weekend Listomania.

Wow - talk about memories! Saw Mink deVille in between Nick Lowe, Dave Edmunds and Rockpile and Elvis Costello and the Attractions at Winterland in June 1978.
They were great - didn't Jack Nietzche produce their second elpee?
Saw that same show in NYC at the Palladium. I had the twelve inch single with Nick and Dave and Elvis on one side (with the Columbia label) and Mink on the other (with a Capitol label).
Nietzche produced their first two albums, both of which are stone killers.
That clip is obviously the promo video from the first album. I had no idea it even existed....
I know how this relates to your weekend, if not to Weekend Listomania: Willy Deville's manager drinks at your elitist-chardonnay-pouring watering hole! HA! (Also, occasionally, the Immortal Ray Davies hoists a lager there -- it's a great bar, innit?)
My Mink DeVille Story:
Saw Willy at the Youngstown Agora in '78 or so. Opening act was AC/DC who put on one of the rockingest shows I have ever seen before or since. The set ended with Angus Young playing guitar on Bon Scott's shoulders as he walked through the audience with Angus at the end of a reeeaally long guitar cord. TOTALLY and COMPLETELY upstaged Mink DeVille.
Willy came out and had to endure calls for AC/DC the entire night.
He looked as if he was ready to kill. He did a very short set and called it a night.
Willy DeVille's EX manager does in fact drink at my elitist chardonnay watering hole, but that's not the connection to listomania.
Hint: Check out last week's contest.
