Oh, well...it IS Hannukah after all.
For more on Brigid Kaelin, the charming auteur of the above "Blue Dreidel No. 9", here's the link to her MySpace page. Obviously, a nice Jewish girl, and a shayneh punim for sure....

I don't want to shock anyone, but I've got a sneaking suspicion that steve simels is....
Jewish!
I know, ridiculous.
First country song to feature the word "verklempt."
:-)
Alt-country Chanukkah song? This is treyf, mishegoss, ferkaktah, verboten.
Great video. As always, let tolerance and humor rule the day.
And a shayneh punim indeed...
Western Ashkanazi Swing. And right good too.
God's blessings to us all throughout the Hannukah and Christmas season.
I was worried that she would rhyme verklempt with shrimp. The horror!

Funny you should mention that ... I work for a Catholic university. Last year at Passover, in the spirit of ethnic diversity, they made matzoh ball soup ... and then put shrimp in it!
It was all I could do not to burst out laughing.
Too funny! It reminds me of my college roomate who was an advertising major. He was told to come up with ad slogans for Dijob Mustard. His favorite was: "Dijon Mustard. It turns an everyday hotdog into a kosher meal!"
His professor, Dr. Feinstein, gave him an A for effort.
But I bet matzo soup (which rocks all on its own) would be great with a little shrimp.
