X-treme Xmas Songs

Here's post-grunge Seattle powerpoppers Super Deluxe with a touching seasonal number from their 1995 Electric Holiday EP. The shredding Santas are a nice touch!

Those kids are adorable -- how come I missed them back in the day?

And why am I asking that question so much lately????

That's funny. I missed them too and I lived there. I know why I missed them though: I ignored that scene in favor of acoustic music at the time. Hey, it was a phase. I did go see a band called Danger Bunny a couple of times up on Capitol Hill. The singer was sorta Sousie and the Banshees and played electric violin. But that was pretty much the extent of my exposure to the "scene".

I was trying to learn all about bluegrass at the time and it just didn't connect. Now at age 50 I actually appreciate this stuff more. (I also cannot not understand kids in their 20's listening to the "classic" rock? station on the construction site I work on. WTF?)

I've always been partial to "Santa's Gonna Shut 'Em Down" b/w "Santa's Midnight Run" by the Untamed Youth, the best surf band Missouri ever produced, bar none.
