Last night, Radio City Music Hall. Paul McCartney sings "Birthday" to Ringo Starr. And we all get to be there.

What impresses me is that in spite of the fact that I loathed Wings, and that most of Paul's solo stuff puts me into a coma, the Beatles button is still on the hair-trigger setting.
Very cool.
(And seeing them together reminds me to be sad that two are gone and they will never play together again, because I am a maudlin and nostalgic old fart.)
Ringo hasn't aged a goddamned day since he was 30. It's genuinely eerie.
God, I hate him.
:-)
Hey, I wish I had Paul's hair genes. Mine turned grey years ago!
Lousy sound and crappy video and still, this is the greatest thing I'll see all wee. Chills!! Thanks for posting.
Wonderful. Thanks. I'm reading "Can't Buy Me Love" right now, so this is particularly meaningful.
And I don't ever want to hear any more crap about "old" people not being able to kick ass, and look great doing it.
p.s. Re. Paul's hair, my guess is that he has discovered Just For Men. :-)
And, once this video is over, there's a link below to a clip of them singing "A Little Help From My Friends" ...
Goosebumps.
But yes, the video at the Daily News link is a little better.
And, in that Ringo style, nothing fancy in the drumming dept. Pound out the beats to support the song. Tasteful. Happy birthday Ringo.
Ringo is awesome. He loves Beethoven, especially the poems.
