From 1969, please enjoy in breathless wonder the instrumental backing track to the Jackson 5's debut single "I Want You Back."
Jeebus, listen to that piano player -- baby, that is rock-and-roll.

Nice. I assume that when they were laying this down, they had a sense of Michael's singing. Was it concurrent and this is just the isolated track?
Amazing.
"Standing in the Shadows of Motown" is one great flick --- not only does it do justice to the Funk Brothers' story and their incredibly iconic riffs (James Jamerson's opening bass on "My Girl" and countless others), the live cover performances are terrific.
I think I'll watch it again tonight ---
They are the only thing I ever liked about the Jackson 5. I thought Michael was creepy when he was eight.
