That Nasty Bug That's Going Around....

...is still kicking my ass.

It's been a hellish week, if you must know.

In any case, I hope to resume normal -- hacking cough free -- posting on the morrow, although I make no promises.

I should add that I find it kind of hilarious that you can actually buy action figures of the little pests.

Christmas is coming, is all I'm gonna say. Word to your mother.

Feel better Steve! Those bugs with human faces still scare me. The Outer Limits was a great show. And...we will get together for our meal in Chinatown come the New Year, I haven't forgotten.

If this doesn't make you feel better, Steve, then at least it'll give you some satisfaction.

The NY Times reported yesterday that James Dolan, Cablevision's chief executive -- and legendary and justifiably-maligned lead singer of JD and The Straight Shot -- was charged by the National Labor Relations Board of illegally threatening to tie pay increases of Brooklyn Cablevison techs to such techs quitting their union, the Communications Workers of America (CWA).

See http://www.nytimes.com/2014/11/08/nyregion/labor-board-says-cablevision-chief-tied-raises-to-vote-against-a-union.html?module=Search&mabReward=relbias%3As%2C{%221%22%3A%22RI%3A10%22}

My wife and I joined a big protest in Canarsie earlier this year (on February 6) to show support for Cablevison techs, and to let Dolan know that union workers won't stand for such crap. As a longtime CWA member, I know how important it is to support other union workers, and especially lower-wage workers getting the shaft from corporate dicks ... I mean, legendary blues singers ... like Dolan.

Dolan's response? Dolan said that the NLRB decsions was unfair, and that "The N.L.R.B. has turned into a tool of Big Labor."

Well, Jimmy-boy, nobody knows that life's unfair better than bluesmen, and of all different types of bluesmen, it's blues singers, such as yourself that can best tell people how dirty rotten unfair life can be.

But look here, Jimmy-boy, why don't you open your eyes and take a look for once WHY life's unfair?

Why, I feel the blues comin' on myself right about now.

The Jimmy Dolan blues.

James Dolan is a dick. And he's not even self-made:

He is the son of Cablevision founder Charles Dolan and nephew of Cleveland Indians owner Larry Dolan.

Got quite a set of choppers, though …
