From 1991, and the fantastic Xmas compilation album A Lump of Coal, please enjoy The Odds and their gloriously Crazy Horse-esque version of "Kings of Orient."
In retrospect, still my favorite holiday record ever. Incidentally, these guys, who may be best known for serving as Warren Zevon's touring band for a while, are still plying their trade up in Canada, and good for them.

i like it. also check out the Roches version on their excellent Christmas album’ We Three Kings’ - another name for Kings of Orient apparently.
Odds are one of my all-time fave bands. There's a Steven Page (he of Barenaked Ladies, another great Canadian band) special running on PBS this holiday season: Steve Page Trio - Live In Concert (distributed by American Public Television), and that's Craig Northey of Odds playing guitar alongside Page.
I saw the Odds open for and then back up WZ in early 1992; great show from both. Yes, they played “Wendy Under the Stars” :-)
Craig Northey and Jesse Valenzuela (of the Gin Blossoms) have done some work together - check it out.
Including theme song to "Corner Gas": https://youtu.be/-ETprmBs3Io
