Not a Mellencamp fan, but ya gotta love 'R.O.C.K. in the U.S.A.,' complete with Twilley-esque bg vox and an ocarina solo!
I saw John & band two years later in 1987 for The Lonesome Jubilee tour, and damn it was good! His band was total kick-down-the -door, and the set list was dominated by Scarecrow & Jubilee songs. Funny guy too as he told us he was disheartened to see Beatles "Revolution" used in that Nike sneakers commercial, and now his "worst nightmare was waking up on a Saturday morning 20 years from now and seeing two Pop Tarts on TV coming up to one of his songs!"
Yes. One PopTart would be 'Jack' and the other 'Diane.'
Phil- too funny
