That 2106 Searchers remix sounds like it is underwater. The 2003 Searchers Collection I have sounds better.

The three volumes of Carla's Have Harmony Will Travel are all great. I would welcome a 4th and a 5th. Carla's a catalyst that makes interesting things happen. A great list of talent that she duets and plays with. Her taste is impeccable.
The Searchers version got heavy airplay in San Bernardino 1965. Released around the same time as the Jimmy Hughes version on Fame. Neither were the first. Robert Mosley, who co-wrote the tune did it in 1963. It was the B-side to Crazy 'Bout My Baby both sides of which got aired on KMEM Berdoo. The station that would sponsor the Rolling Stones 1st US concert six months later. A concert at which Keith Richards said that the kids knew all the songs. That's because Mr. Kicks had been playing the entire album since it
was released in England. The phones lit up.
A couple of days ago I watched this "live" version of the song on youtube circa 1973. Pender looking more adorable than ever. Did I mention that he sat in my lap?
