From 1965, please compare and contrast...
Jerry Lewis' less than stellarly talented son Gary Lewis (of Gary Lewis and the Playboys fame)...
...and your humble scribe, before the onset of his secondary sex characteristics.
Seriously, I can't tell you how irked I've been, for decades, that Gary was the only rock star I ever looked like.

But how about the equally uncool guy from Freddie and the Dreamers? Freddie himself...I guess.
ah, it's not so bad, Steve. i remember a party in elementary school in the 60's where Revolver was taken off of the turntable in favor of The Playboys. So there's that.
That's more like it, without the Prince Valiant hairdo. Also, you sort of look like a young Tim Allen with glasses. I know, not an improvement.
I've been told more than once I look like Andy Partridge (back when he had hair).
Much better than Gary Lewis...

In the seventh grade, the kids said I looked like Bun E. Carlos.
They weren't far off.
Gary had the best of the best behind his records and did quite well against the British Invasion, but yeah, overall it's hard to make a case for him.
There is however, "Jill," an incredible single from '67 written by Bonner and Gordon and arranged by Jack Nitzsche.
