Your Monday Moment of Words Fail Me

The Rolling Stones meet The Temptations...

...and then, presumably go down to the Chelsea Drugstore for breakfast.

Yeah, I know, these things are essentially stunts, but this one really is clever. I particularly like the sample from "Gimme Shelter" at the end. Not to mention hearing "The Beatles new record's a gas" on a Stones track.

I agree on the "clever" comment. Works really well. I wonder who dreams up this kind of stuff? Love Keef's acoustic.

Hello, please remain seated,

Gimmick, stunt, whatever. That was pretty cool.

Occasionally I hear something new and say to myself, "Boy, that sounds like so-and-so." And once in a while, I might even listen to two similar tracks one after another to confirm my belief or suspicion or whatever. And I might even mention it to a friend who knows both artists. But to massage two on-the-surface completely different songs WITH ACCOMPANYING VIDEO to create a wholly new work -- considering how long it'll take to do so to get the finished work just right -- is something more than a stunt. And the use, two or three times, of Mick leaning down to pound the riser to match the kick-drum beat to sync the two songs is a Goddamn work of genius. You could teach a course in video editing on this piece alone.

I think it's brilliant! And it rocks like a MF!
