Heh. And I say that as somebody who was a rabid Springsteen fan before it was fashionable. π

Those first two Springsteen records were a revelation. I saw him in 73 just before E Street Shuffle. Great show with the E Street band on that record. He was a hot lead guitarist and they played for like 3 hours. Man…
Oops. It was February 1975 at John Carrol university gym.
I've told this story numerous times, but the first time i saw him was at tiny NYC club in early 1973; the opening act was Bob Marley and the original Wailers. Bruce took requests, including one of mine. https://powerpop.blogspot.com/2022/04/springsteen-songs-barnes-noblecom.html
Too cool. Wailers with Tosh, and then Springsteen. Whoa. CJ
To this day unless I'm reading the lyrics I still have no idea what he is singing but it sure sounds great.
My first live Bruce was summer 1974 at The Bottom Line w/ Ernie Carter and David Sancious. Oh my god!!!!! What a show!!!
Funny you should run this Bruce cartoon today since I've been listening to 1970's Bruce (including live shows and many, many outtakes) for the last week or so. The "Darkness" outtakes are scary good!

1978 - my sister is working in a restaurant. Their was a young man who kept trying to get a date with my sister. So...he dines at the restaurant (high end) one weekend and he ends up in her section. He pays his bill and leaves a tip. My sister walks over to the table and in the tip tray 2 tickets to Springsteen. We had fun π

Pretty much everybody who was a Springsteen fan back then has a similar story. π
Steve, have to say I don't know who sweated more that night other than the Boss. IIRC he had to have played 3+ hours and kept me the entire time. Saw the Dead w/Jerry, noted for long concerts, and Bruce kept my attention the entire time.
There was only one Artist who gave him a run and that was Elton, not Elon. π
I've seen Iggy Pop and I've seen James Brown. But Bruce Springsteen is the hardest working man in show-biz.
