In any case, that's brilliant Australian pub rock/New Wave band The Sports and their utterly fab 1979 hit "Who Listens to the Radio", a song which seems newly relevant given the once unthinkable levels of drivel that now pollute our air waves here in the third decade of the 21st century; sometime soon I really gotta do a think piece on the larger issues raised by that. I would also like to add that the guitar player on the right hand side in the video has some of the coolest jumping stage moves in the history of rock-and-roll.
BTW, for some reason I thought that came out on Stiff Records originally, but a Google search suggests otherwise; if any hard core collectors/vinyl nerds out there can clear up that confusion, I'd be happy to award them a coveted PowerPop No-Prize© for their trouble.

According to DIscogs: In the Sports' native Australia, the single and the album ("Don't Throw Stones") from which it came were released on a label called Mushroom Records (not the same label that in North America had Chilliwack and early Heart). In the U.S., the single and album were leased to (surprise, surprise!) Arista Records.
Vin Scully, of course, served as the play-by-play announcer for the Los Angeles Dodgers for decades (after the team moved from Brooklyn). Believe it or not, Discogs also has a page on him and the Dodger-related recordings that he made :-)

The sleeve would lead you to believe Hit Single was the A side, but the label says Who Listens To The Radio is the A side.
I’m the descendent of rabid Brooklyn fans. One of the great moments of my life was at an Ebbets Field game the last season in Flatbush when Scully came down from the broadcast booth to say hi to Roy Campanella’s parents, who were in the row in front of us.😎

ChrisE; Amen to Scully and Campanella. Unreal Steve. And the song is a great infectious bit of prototype New Wave of the era. Very enjoyable. And so many performance references; I catch Costello; Terry Adams of NRBQ........ good stuff
Like many a family back in 1958 we had a subscription to life magazine.
Reading Campanella's name made me flash back to his post accident picture being on the cover of Life Magazine . Pretty horrific for a 7 year old to see
