A Summer's Night With a Magic Moon

The great Jackie DeShannon in 1964, performing her self-penned "When You Walk in the Room."

Truly, one of the canonical power pop classics, and if it will make you feel any better until fairly recently I didn't know she'd had her own version of it out before The Searchers either.

Always loved that song.

Paul Carrack covered it, too.

She's cute!

Also covered by Status Quo and Springsteen. And my skinny tie band in the 80s. And probably about a million other people.

Jeez...I can't help but note the contrast in quality between this clip and the one below it. It's sad. Just sad.

Uh...Of course, I meant quality as in song/talent; not visuals/SFX. Just wanted to be clear about that.

Great song, good version but Jackie dances as poorly as Evie Sands. White songwriters can't dance!
