An Early Clue to the New Direction

From 1981, here's worst rock band in history New Wave flash in the pan Quaterflash with "Harden My Heart."

As is customary, a coveted PowerPop No-Prize will be awarded to the first reader who divines the clip's relevance to Friday's Weekend Listomania.

Internal Organs?

Are there a lot of songs about intestines or livers or prostates?

If so, that might be a good category down the road...

Lady sax players? Shitty bands that Chuck Eddy lionized? Bands with fractions in their names?

In keeping with the holiday..... Independence Songs, i.e., Kiss-Off Songs?

Sorry, it's got absolutely nothing to do with the holiday.

Just couldn't crank up the patriotic enthusiasm this year. And besides, last year I posted Springsteen singing "4th of July, Asbury Park (Sandy)".

Can't get much better than that....

Okay, it's been slow around here tonight, so I'll give it to you.

Best sax on a post Elvis pop/rock record. Obviously, the posting of the worst sax ever was a feint...
:-)

In any case, enjoy your holiday No-Prize!!!!!

I like that name, Rindy, though.

Rindy. Nice, woody sound.
